Pi Sigma Epsilon Partnership Connects Impact with the Best and Brightest

May 3, 2018

Our recruiting partnerships provide Impact with some very rewarding experiences.

Earlier in the year, we became partners with Pi Sigma Epsilon, a national fraternity for men and women studying Sales, Management and Marketing. This partnership enables us to identify and establish relationships with college students who are on track to become business professionals.

Samantha Bone and Kelsey Tover, two Impact recruiters, recently attended the Pi Sigma Epsilon National Convention in San Diego. This event gave them the opportunity to network with some of the most capable students from Pi Sigma Epsilon chapters throughout the country, and to introduce Impact as a partner of the organization. Samantha and Kelsey described the palpable competitive spirit at the event, and lauded the students for the being some of the most impressive candidates they have seen in their careers as recruiters thus far.

They spent the entirety of four-day event coaching students and serving as judges for various competitions, including the Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon. Both described the event as an eye-opening experience and an excellent opportunity to further hone their skills as recruiters. “My favorite part of the convention was the one-on-one interaction with students through coaching,” said Kelsey Tover. “It was an awesome experience to meet with these students, see their capabilities, and learn from recruiters who had attended other Pi Sigma Epsilon conventions in the past.”

Additionally, they had the opportunity to present Ashley Cassens with a $1,500 Impact scholarship for her hard work. For Samantha Bone, this was one of the most rewarding portions of the entire convention: “Presenting the scholarship to Ashley and seeing the reward that came from all her hard work was easily the best part of the event. These students had all spent four days competing and being judged and performing incredibly well under intense pressure.”

Ashley is a student at Illinois State University majoring in Marketing - Advanced Analytics and minoring in Management - Organizational Leadership. She has proven through her diligence and ability that she is a student on the rise and is on track for a successful and rewarding career. She reached out to Impact to thank the recruiting department for giving her this scholarship:

“Being recognized for my achievements through this scholarship is an incredible feeling. This past year was my first opportunity to attend PSE Nationals, and it was such a great experience. I haven't been able to attend conventions in the past because of the financial burden. This scholarship reduced that and allowed me to thoroughly enjoy a week of learning and professional development.”

Our recruiting department has heavily invested in this partnership with Pi Sigma Epsilon, as it aids in the achievement of our goal of acquiring top talent for a variety of positions. With partnerships currently in place at universities in the Midwest, alignment with Pi Sigma Epsilon helps us round out our recruiting initiatives on a national scale.

Director of Recruiting Cynthia Skurski is optimistic about the opportunities present in this new partnership. “Pi Sigma Epsilon puts us front and center on the national stage with some of the most promising and diligent students at universities throughout the country. This partnership will increase our visibility and competitiveness in our recruiting efforts and capabilities.” Impact recruiters are currently pursuing additional opportunities to participate in events with Pi Sigma Epsilon at the local and regional level in the Midwest.

We are grateful for the opportunities that the Pi Sigma Epsilon partnership enables us to provide for deserving students like Ashley, and look forward to providing more students with this experience in the future.
