Impact Gives Back #GivingTuesday
November 27, 2018
Happy Giving Tuesday! Following the biggest shopping days of the season, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving. Giving Tuesday is recognized as the kick-off to the season of holiday and year-end giving. Each year, Impact donates to national and local charities, and gives back during the holiday season through multiple programs in different branches. This year is set to be our biggest year of giving yet!
Letters to Santa
For the past 11 years, Impact has partnered with Pickard Elementary School in conjunction with the Letters to Santa program to provide gifts to every student. Each year in September, Pickard students from pre-kindergarten to 4th grade write a letter to Santa detailing what they want for Christmas. Teachers work with the students to create a list of three possible gifts, which are then compiled in a letter. During this time, Impact employees contribute their own money to purchase gifts for the students. The partnership has grown over the years, but the mission still remains the same, to provide each student with a gift to make their holiday special. This year is set to be the biggest year yet, with over 450 gifts wrapped and ready to be delivered by Santa to the Pickard Students. See highlights from last year.
Latino Community Development
Since 2014, Impact has been involved with the Latino Community Development (LCD) organization in Indianapolis, IN. The organization works with the Latino community to provide the tools and resources needed for low income families. Each year Impact raises $100,000 for the charity and has employees on the organization’s Board of Directors, driving Impact’s continued involvement. During the holidays, employees at Impact’s Indianapolis branch gather and donate toys, food and appliances to over 500 families in the greater Indianapolis area for LCD’s annual Santa Comes to Town Christmas event. This year will be no different, with Impact employees already beginning to donate. One Impact employee even bought a Santa suit and plays the role at the event.
Stayed tuned to hear about the success of our holiday initiatives!
