A note from the editor: Implementing new enterprise technologies at scale is no easy feat. Recognizing the heart, hard work, and metaphorical (hopefully) blood that goes into making these major organizational shifts is vital in establishing a progressive and innovative company culture that adopts a continual improvement mentality.
Good leaders go out of their way to call out the wins of their team, putting the spotlight on the individuals who made the whole thing come to fruition. There’s no better display of that then how our Chief Technology Officer, Frank DeGeorge, addressed his team’s incredible work in launching HALO Professional Services Automation and Microsoft Dynamics 365 on a company-wide scale at Impact’s sister company, DOT Security.
Folding new technology into existing processes never comes without obstacles, but it’s how you address those obstacles that matters.

The Launch Goes Live
Tuesday, January 21st, was a big day for all of us at DOT Security (and Impact) as we officially launched HALO PSA and D365 ERP for our DOT Security operations. It's not just about implementing systems. This is a new chapter for DOT Security, and we are laying the foundation for Impact’s future.
The last time Impact launched a new ERP system was back in 2012. The company was smaller, simpler, and largely focused on print. Those tools worked well for the Impact of the past, but we’ve grown into something far more dynamic. Now, it’s time for systems that match what we are today and what we’re going to become.
This launch is historic for us: It’s the first time we’re pairing a professional services automation (PSA) platform with a modern ERP system. But this isn’t just about replacing old tools, it’s about creating a foundation to scale, innovate, and become the $500M company we all know Impact can be.
Getting here hasn’t been easy. Over the years, we’ve faced challenges, hit roadblocks, and adapted along the way. Not everything went as planned, but each challenge brought valuable lessons. Every misstep gave us clarity about what needed to change. I call those “successful failures.” They weren’t setbacks, they were what brought us to today.
I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible effort that’s gone into making this launch possible. First, thank you to everyone at DOT Security as this was a team effort. A special shoutout to those who’ve put in countless hours behind the scenes:

- Sage Heller
- Jake Kleeburg

- Naveed Zahid
- Cam McCarty
- and many many others!!!
Your dedication and patience have been extraordinary, and this milestone wouldn’t have been possible without you!
I also want to take a moment to appreciate where we’re coming from. Base99 has been our workhorse for years. It managed 1.35 million tickets, tracked 3.6 million laborers, and supported us through 8,000 projects and 300+ assessments. It’s been a critical part of our success. But, like all tools, it has its limits, and recognizing that is not a failure. It’s growth.
This launch is just the beginning. We have much work ahead to unlock the full potential of these tools, stay agile, and keep pushing ourselves to deliver better outcomes for our clients and our company.
Thank you for your hard work, perseverance, and belief in what we’re building together. Let’s make this a day to remember and get to work on what’s next!
